Welcome to my blog!

wowowowowow! Welcome welcome welcome. I am so excited to start this blog and start sharing the innerworkings of my life with all of you. Writing is a passion of mine and I felt it has been lost during medical school. It's never really the first thing on my to-do list when I'm busy worrying about my exam schedule. But now that I am in second year, and things have slowed down, I look forward to pursuing my passion of writing more often!

First things first. Let me introduce myself.

My name is Katie and I am a second year osteopathic medical student. I currently live in Colorado where I was born and raised with my husband and two doggies; Murphy (fox red lab) and Stevie (wirehaired griffon). Yes, she is named after Stevie Nicks. Tanner and I got married in July of 2022- the summer between my first and second year of medical school! We were married at Garden of the Gods and Shove Chapel on Colorado College's Campus.

I started my instagram @lilmedicinegal in 2018 while I was a junior in undergrad as way to share my experiences and connect with other pre-meds. Now that I'm in medical school, I have loved the mentorship and connection I get to have with people passionate about medicine all over the world! I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2019 with a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. I also worked full time as an ER tech during my junior and senior year of college. After college, I took a gap year where I worked and sat for my MCAT. I then applied in 2020! I started medical school in 2021 and it has been my life since then.

While not in school, I love exploring the great outdoors, spending time with my family, getting margs with my besties, and of course hanging out with my lil perfect family.

This website will be used to post all of my favorite resources, study tips, links to my fave products, and most of all, just my life in medical school.
